Rather than creating awareness about a problem, the best marketing solves it.

The Challenge

25 years after the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), there are still disproportionate levels of sickness, sadness, and death for people with disabilities because they don’t have access to the resources and facilities that everyone else does—especially for fitness and recreation.

Our challenge: build a movement around this largely unknown problem.

The Solution

Beyond marketing, we helped create a real and lasting solution to the problem: Ramp Up MKE—an ongoing effort to transform Milwaukee into the most universally accessible city in the world, one location at a time.

The Work

We designed a user-friendly website to serve as the hub of this movement. All campaign materials directed traffic here so visitors could join the cause and sign up to receive notifications about upcoming events.

VISIT THE SITE

So far, we’ve permanently added equipment for people with disabilities to two of Milwaukee’s most popular recreation spots: Bradford Beach and downtown’s Red Arrow skating rink.

With extensive coverage from the media, our message reached a multitude of new audiences. It also resulted in support from local officials to keep the initiative going. Now, the movement has taken on a life of it's own.
